My time at Lawrence HS.

A few weeks back, in January, I was asked to visit Lawrence High School in Kansas. Once there, I realized that the students had prepared thoughtful questions about my life as a musician and retrospect on my last album, North. Here are a few videos from my visit.

Upcoming tour dates.

This is a long one and I’m taking it all on solo. I hope to see everyone out there, I might need the company.

January Tour Dates and Live Daytrotter Session.

Hey Friends,
It’s been a while since I’ve been back from the North CD Release tour. Things went really well for Adam, John, and I. There were so many highlights including long drives through mountains, finding snow on the tip of each but never seeing it fall. Finally, when things came to an end, John drove back towards Lafayette, IN to continue his life as a solo musician and Adam continued to jump band to band as Kalamazoo’s resident rocker.

As for myself, I’ve been sitting in my new Kalamazoo home, writing songs and preparing for the next solo stretch. January is an exciting month, full of gigs in MI’s lower and upper pennisula followed by more Midwest dates and a live Daytrotter Session to be recorded on Jan. 24. Click the image Daytrotter to find out how to listen in.

In February, I’ll be spending a month in Boulder, CO. I needed some time to spend my days working on new songs and directions and I feel like the altitude might bring new inspiration. March/April will include more Midwest, Northeast, and East Coast dates. So look forward to that.

Thanks for checking in. Feel free to email me if you’d like Small Houses to stop into your town while on tour. I’ll try my best to pull something together.  Quentinband@gmail.com

Enjoy your winter,
-J. Quentin

Small Houses Music Video

Here it is. The Official Small Houses music video. Buy the track at Bandcamp.
Small Houses – North

The start of the CD release tour.

The start of the CD release tour came with a great deal of good fortune, the most important one being that everything fits inside the car.

John Davey and I took are first steps out of the state yesterday while listening to our favorite Country albums. Toledo treated us well. Almost too well. I think both John and I are still feeling the goodness of Toledo with splitting headaches. Come to think of it, write that down. The Next Small Houses album, “The Goodness of Toledo with Splitting Headaches.”

Tonight we play Brother’s Lounge in Cleveland followed by a late night drive into Jamestown to stay with our good friend Frank Besse. After a good night’s sleep, I’m sure we’ll take every minute in upstate New York as a blessing. I love that area with all my heart. On Friday morning we pick up Adam Danis at the train station and then the tour will really get into gear.

If we’re playing in your town, please come out. John is nailing these harmonies.

Catch you on the flipty flip,
-J. Quentin
