Kickstarter Success!

Hello Everyone,
There has been good news with Small Houses. The Kickstarter has been completely funded. Thank you to everyone who had participated and helped promote the site.

More good news. The E.P. has been set to release on April 30th at Woodruff’s Bar in Ypsilanti, MI.

The Full Length is still in the works, in fact, I’m listening to the rough mixes of the foundational work recorded at Backseat Productions. Making plans to meet up with the members of Red Tail Ring to rehearse some violin and vocal overdubs.

Sneak Peak at, “North.”

Hey Everyone,
To help persuade you to take a closer look at the Kickstarter for the new Small Houses’ E.P. “Just Before the North,” I’ve decided to post a an early edit of the album’s opening track, Country Flowers. This track will appear on both the E.P. and the Full Length, but with two different recording styles and backing bands. The E.P. features the backing band, Seth and May, and the reel to reel recording styles of John Krohn. Check the Kickstarter Update Section to give it a listen! http://kck.st/dQJisX

Upcoming Albums.

Hey Everyone,
It’s been very exciting to start collecting songs for the upcoming albums, “Just Before the North,” a prelude E.P. to it’s full length record, “North.” Still throughout these efforts, I have been encountering trouble finding the funds to continue in the recording process. That’s why I have created the Kickstarter page to help things along. Check out the videos below with some of the songs the albums will include, and consider donating.

As tour continues I’ve had the chance to work with quite a few talented filmmakers. This was one of my favorite projects to date. Singing on a frozen lake looking towards the Madison skyline.

Small Houses Covers Tom Waits.

Leaving for tour tomorrow. New Video.

Dear Friends,
Today is Sunday, and tomorrow, on Monday, I’ll finish packing my car and start driving North. After a brief visit to Traverse City, I’ll move onto Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for show #1 of a seemingly endless tour. Some highlights I look forward to: Pasties in Houghton, the backwoods of Northern Wisconsin, the rolling exit ramps outside of pittsburgh, the friendly handshakes of Rochester, Lake Champlain’s car ferry at midnight, Harvard Square’s coffee shops, New York’s aggressive BQE, my 23rd birthday celebration in Philly, and the list continues. Feel free to give me a call for I’ll be taking to my car both day and night.

Suiting up for Tour.

Getting ready for tour involves the centering of your mind, your body, and your badass new Gibson tube amp. Earlier today, just

after spending three days at Ypsilanti’s 4 day music festival called Mittenfest, Joe F. came over to ground my new amp after witnessing a menacing shock to my face while sounding checking with Bathgate. As the lights started to dim and my feet started to leave from under me, I saw the upcoming days of touring bliss. Images of Michigan’s U.P., Vermont’s snowy northern mountain tops, and Philly’s warm west side, flashed before my eyes. And then, a peaceful calm came over as we played a shredding New Year’s set with dueling solos between myself and Frontier Ruckus’ Matt Millia.

Have you checked out the tour dates listed to your right? Give them a good read through just after memorizing this sweet shot of Joe digging into my new amp, “The Widow Maker.”

One more thing! Slowcoustic chose Small Houses as their song of the day.
